Well it was meant to be as a seguel or follow up but that idea is long scrapped and now it has not any ties to Cube. Altough clearly it states that script ''originally meant to be a seguel'' it at least has throwed some clue to us what Vincenzo Natali idea was. But no ties to Cube now.

That would be interesting to be made as kind of a sequel to Cube.
Or maybe a prequel (way before CZ).
....not putting a lot of thought into, just kind of throwing this out there, what if Splice is about them making some genetically engineered humanoid creature.... thing.... then many years later the new species have over run humanity and are now experimenting with humans.... in a cube.
I don't know, just trying to think of ways they could be related. Or whoever is "in charge" of the Cube is also responsible for the Splice experiments. Maybe there will be some clever way they're connected.
Some interest information I found « Result #3 on Nov 18, 2009, 1:09am »
As much as I can gather it seems that Vincenzo Natali new horro film Splice has something to do with Cube. Here is something I found.
''Splice was written by director Vincenzo Natali and screenwriters Doug Taylor and Antoinette Terry Bryant. The script was originally meant to follow up Natali's Cube (1997), but the budget and restricted technology hindered the project. In 2007, the project entered active development as a 75% Canadian and 25% French co-production, receiving a budget of $26 million. The director described the film: "Splice is very much about our genetic future and the way science is catching up with much of the fiction out there.''
The movie is about two scientists who begin involving human DNA in their splicing of animal genes
Don't know how much the first script was different to fit as a seguel to first Cube but it pretty much tells about origins of Cube. It is either goverment project or something alien.
Well the only it seems is to get somewhere the first draft of the script but I would't be suprised that it is now burned just as that short film which Natali directed.

Re: 3D Model Of The Cube « Result #5 on Nov 10, 2009, 6:25pm »
That would be awesome! Good luck!
My main problem is the tutorials. I'll get like ten steps into a tutorial then suddenly can't find a tool they're talking about.
I'd say I'm pretty good at Photoshop. I'm a graphic artist and I use Photoshop and CorelDraw on a daily basis. I learned how to use those by following tutorials. So I know it's not my ability to follow a tutorial. It just seems that Blender makes drastic layout changes between each version. It's very frustrating. The tutorial will seem easy enough.... I just don't have the patience to click every single icon I can find just to find one simple tool they mention.

in theory, the vibrations that are sound (that our eardrums pick up) could be used to agitate everything in Mierhold's body (much like sound breaking glass bottles/cups), but this couldn't happen. Movie magic FTW

Mierholds Death? « Result #7 on Nov 8, 2009, 7:40pm »
Mierhold seems to be the most unlucky charecter in all the movies, he gets two of his fingers removed, gets infected, alost gets deserted, and gets thrown into a traped room, were he was finished and put out of his misery. But I was wondering, how did the trap room work? how could sound cause him to explode? wouldent it just make him deaf?

I've been trying to get into Blender more. It's been very difficult because I learn by doing tutorials and like 90% of the tutorials I find are using an older version of Blender and are laid out completely different and it'll sometimes take me a half hour to find a tool they said to click two menus to get. Then most of the tutorials I find that are using the newest version of Blender are really advanced and I can't follow it very well because you're supposed to already know how to use the program.
Hopefully I'll be able to keep an interest in it long enough though.
I was just following a tutorial earlier for using a background image as a reference. I came up with this:
It's extremely basic, I know. But before this I was shaping boxes and circles and sticking them together. I was trying to make a ship.... this is the pile of crap I came up with:
I was trying to make a ship similar to a ship I recently made in my game Spore.
....the one I made in the game looks nothing like this hahaha I was GOING to try to model it in Blender and then make it a million times better.
Re: Have Any Of You Noticed? « Result #11 on Nov 6, 2009, 4:10am »
Since the movie is a prequel, it's entirely possible that they put that in there as part of an early design of the cube and realized that it made it too easy for people, taking out in the redesign.
Oh, and thank god Im not the only one who can control their dreams
I had a dream about the cube the other day, and I knew I was dreaming in my dream preety weird. It was kinda scary, but I think the best part of the dream was hitching a ride in the shifting rooms lol It was great, untill my alarm woke me -_-

Have Any Of You Noticed? « Result #18 on Nov 3, 2009, 3:55am »
Hey guys, Just wondering, have any of you noticed, that in Cube zero, the door handle is all ways vertical with the door, but when there is a trap active, the handle is horizontal? Like with the first guys death in the wire room, (With the bolts) when you look around, all the handles are horezontal, and same thing with myerholds death.
Do you think this could be a way to detect traped rooms?
Meyerhold's Death « Result #21 on Nov 2, 2009, 1:58am »
So does anyone have a real clip of it? With the actual audio from it? any one any one??? and also lucid dreaming plus cube equals scary! lucid dreaming is when you realize that your dreaming in your dream and can control it. if you where lucid dreaming of you being in the cube it might uncover alot more about the cube, and also it might give you ideas.
